Below is a list of all current and future scholarships.

Tarkio College Scholarship


The Tarkio College Scholarship is available to any student attending Tarkio Tech.  Students may complete the Uniform Scholarship Application available on our website.  Eligibility for the scholarship is based on career goals, family financial ability to pay, student involvement in school and community activities and personal commitment to the student’s chosen program.  Interested students should complete the Uniform Scholarship Application on our website. 

Tarkio Rotary Club Scholarship


The Tarkio Technology Institute Scholarship, sponsored by the Tarkio Rotary Club, is available to any Tarkio High School graduating senior who has been admitted to any technical program provided by TTI. Application is made during the month of April each year. Applications are available from the Guidance Counselor’s office at THS and are due by May 1.

ACDC Scholarship


 ACDC’s annual scholarship program was created to help outstanding Atchison County high school graduates fund post-secondary education and training programs, particularly when that education will help enable students to live, work and create a life in Atchison County.  ACDC recognizes the importance of not only traditional undergraduate education, but also career and technical training. To that end, ACDC’s scholarship program offers a $500 scholarship to Atchison County students attending Tarkio Tech.  The scholarship program will be awarded to one student from each of the Atchison County schools, Tarkio, Fairfax, and Rock Port.  The application is available on the Tarkio Tech website. 

Tarkio United Presbyterian Church Scholarship


The Tarkio United Presbyterian Church awards a $1,000 scholarship annually to a student enrolled in a Tarkio Technology Institute program.  Although all students are eligible to receive this scholarship, students graduating from Tarkio High School and students who are residents of Atchison County will receive additional weighting in the selection process.  Recipients must maintain a 3.00 GPA to receive the second semester payment.  The scholarship is renewable for a second year of studies.   Interested students should complete the Uniform Scholarship Application on our website. 

Reynolds, Lade, Gilbert Scholarship


The Reynolds, Lade, Gilbert Scholarship was created to recognize Tarkio College Alum Al Reynolds, a member of the first Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl team, and his coaches, Bob Lade and Paul Gilbert.  The scholarship considers the applicant's ability to pay, school and community involvement, and commitment to the career for which they are preparing.  Additional consideration is given to students who have been involved in their high schools’ athletic programs.  Interested student should complete the Uniform Scholarship Application on our website.   

 

Larry L. Yates Welding Scholarship


 Larry L. Yates Welding Scholarship: We Weld Anything but the Break of Day. The Larry L. Yates scholarship was established to honor the memory of Larry L. Yates, a NW Missouri area farmer. Larry enjoyed having his own shop and was an accomplished metal craftsman. This yearly scholarship will provide the equipment fee and application fee required for the Welding program at Tarkio Technology Institute. The scholarship will be awarded for the regular school year based on the Tarkio Tech Uniform application, with preference given to Nodaway County residents. The scholarship is valued at $420 with the payment made to Tarkio Tech to be distributed to the scholarship recipient upon final enrollment. Deadline July 1

 

TCAA Scholarship


 The Tarkio College Alumni Association awards a nonrecurring one-time scholarship in the amount determined previously by the Board of Directors per recipient paid directly to Tarkio Tech.   Said payment will be split such that one half of the award will be applied to the first semester and the other half applied to the second semester unless the winner has only one semester left before graduation. Proof of a C average must also be submitted to the Alumni Association before the second semester's payment is made.  If the scholarship holder should withdraw prior to completion of the school year for which the scholarship was granted, the recipient will reimburse Tarkio College Alumni Association, Inc. the full amount of the scholarship.  The application is available on the Alumni website tarkioalumni.org/scholarships

Tarkio Alumni Scholarship

The Dr. Gavin L., Sr. and Eleanor M. Doughty Scholarship


To honor Gavin and Eleanor Doughty and the contributions they have both made to the Tarkio, MO community and to Tarkio College, Tarkio, MO. Dr. Doughty was a long-time Professor of Music at Tarkio College, A Capella Choir director, church organist and choir director, organ and piano teacher and performer and influential community builder.  Eleanor was a homemaker, public school teacher, Tarkio College Library cataloger and lifetime supporter of Dr. Doughty.  Awards will be determined based on the completion of a Doughty Scholarship application. The Tarkio Technology Institute Scholarship Committee will determine the amount of the scholarship up to and including $1,000 per semester for full-time students, with a maximum of two per student per academic year. Maximum award amounts will be pro-rated for part-time students.  Scholarship application available at Tarkio Tech or on the Tarkio Tech website.

Wallin Plumbing HVAC Scholarship


Wallin Plumbing and Heating Company in Shenandoah, Iowa and Clarinda, Iowa, along with their corporate suppliers in Omaha, Nebraska and Kansas City, Missouri provide funding for scholarships to students enrolling in the HVAC Installation program at Tarkio Tech.  Interested students should complete the Uniform Scholarship Application on our website.


GI Education Benefits

Available Spring 2022


GI Bill benefits help you pay for college, graduate school, and training programs. Since 1944, the GI Bill has helped qualifying Veterans and their family members get money to cover all or some of the costs for school or training.   If you applied for and were awarded Post-9/11 GI Bill education benefits, your GI Bill Statement of Benefits will show you how much of your benefits you’ve used and how much you have left to use.

Bud and Marylea Schwenn Health Occupations Program Scholarship


The Bud and Marlea Schwenn scholarship was established to honor the memory of Bud Schwenn, an Atchison County farmer, who died in 1964 at age 54 from a heart attack and his wife, Marylea Green Schwenn who attended Tarkio College in the 1040's obtaining her two-year teaching certificate, teaching at Minden Iowa before becoming bud's wife and raising three children. This scholarship awards a $3,000 scholarship ($1,500 per semester) to a student enrolled in the Health Occupations Program. Although all students are eligible to receive the scholarship, students graduating from Tarkio High School and students who are residents of Atchison County will receive additional weighting in the selection process. Recipients must maintain a 3.00 GPA to receive the second semester payment.  Interested student should complete the Uniform Scholarship Application on our website.
